Welcome back to you all - I'll be posting your weekly tasks for your coursework below so keep your eyes peeled and they'll be checked off as they're completed, printed and blogged.

A promotional package for a new film, to include a trailer, a film magazine from cover, featuring the film and a poster for the film.

Week One

1. What is your main coursework task outline?
2. What are your initial thoughts about this task?
3. What is your proposal for your production? This must be approved before you can continue!
4. What is your treatment for the production? Actors, Settings, Costs, Production Company (your own).

Week Two

1. Research into the background of the horror genre.  Collate and blog a timeline of key productions and changes that have occured - use information from film posters, trailers and production companies to inform your work and say how the genre has changed over time.  These will be your images and comments related to genre.
2. Summarise what you have found out to create a list of typical conventions found in this genre - why are they so effective on an audience?

Week Three

1. Create an Action Plan for the research and planning of your productions.
2. Research into the different methods and means you could use to distribute your production - evaluate which would be the most effective and why.

Week Four

1. You need to create a post about different BBFC research (what they are and what they do) and the different age classifications they give to films and what their varying criteria is.
2. You need to summarise what your Legal responsibilities will be as a film producer: what are the issues you will need to address regarding censorship, copyright and regulation?

Week Five

1. This week you need to define who your intended audience is going to be.
2. You need to outline the uses and gratifications of your production.

Week Six

1. Make sure that the results of your questionnaire are summarised and presented creatively.
2. You need to define the target audience for your production - if this was done on your mindmap, please photograph and add to your blog.  Explain why you think your current plans will appeal to them in a short summary.
3. Make sure the different parts of your mindmap have been photographed and added to your blog explaining what you are presenting about your production for each section.
4. Create a summary of the uses and gratifications for horror movies - why will your production meet these needs.
5. Revise and remind yourself of Star and Auteur theory (Dyer) - apply this to the selection of proposed stars that could be in your production.
